As you might have gathered, this show doesn’t run like most, and it gets a little confusing. So here’s a quick little guide to how this works for you.
1. Write or find a piece- feel free to contact us at this point with questions, but this is entirely up to you: we want you to create however you want, about whatever you want, on the topic of women/sex/gender. We want each version of the Radical Vulvas to be completely different from the last, because we want each set of performers and each new audience to bring a new conversation to it. It’s all you, so go and love it.
2. Send it our way! The submission deadline is November 15th. We’ll take a look- we accept most pieces, but they’ve gotta be relevant, and they can’t be hatin. There is always a chance we’re full, but there’s always open mics, so don’t let that discourage you at all.
3. Advice or Input? Whether you take us up on this is totally up to you, but if you want to practice your piece in front of an audience, get some input, comments on the text, etc, the Collective is more than happy to do that. Actually, if there is ANYTHING we can do that could help you, let us know.
4. Sound Check. Not all pieces need a soundcheck, but if they do, feel free to come to the space before the show (we can set up a time with you) to check the mics, talk to the sound person, know the space, etc. We’ll be in touch with you about this closer to the date of, and let you know where you are on the program around the same time.
5. Take off at 8 pm, November 21st! Hows that for not being rehearsal intensive?
